The Hilton hotel chain operates over 7,500 hotels in more than 120 countries under various brands. The company offers a free bonus program called Hilton Honors. When you register, you benefit from various advantages depending on your status and can collect points that can be redeemed for free nights and much more.
As a member of the program, you are eligible for one of these four bonus levels:
- Member: This is the status that is automatically achieved after free registration. It enables a reduced rate, free choice of room and the option to collect points for free overnight stays or exclusive experiences.
- Silver: Members who have collected ten nights, four stays or 25,000 base points qualify for this status. They receive additional benefits such as a 20 percent bonus on points collected for stays, free mineral water and various discounts.
- Gold: This status comes with additional benefits such as room upgrades, 80 percent bonus on points earned, food and drinks credit and breakfast on the house, depending on the brand and region. Members need 40 nights, 20 stays or 75,000 base points – or simply a Platinum Card from American Express: This card automatically grants access to Hilton Honors Gold status, without having to meet any requirements.
- Diamond: The highest status is achieved after 60 nights, 30 stays or 120,000 base points. It grants more bonuses such as access to the Executive Lounge or premium Wi-Fi.
The benefits of Hilton Honors Gold status in detail
Hilton Honors Gold status, which all Platinum Card members can acquire free of charge without having to meet any requirements, grants numerous benefits when staying at one of the hotels in the Hilton portfolio. These are (as of March 2025) 18 hotel groups. The benefits in detail:
- Room upgrades: Depending on the hotel brand and room availability, Platinum Card members receive an upgrade on the booked category to a room category on the Executive Floor.
- Mineral water: two free bottles of mineral water per stay in your room.
- Points bonus: With every stay at one of the participating hotels, guests collect base points that can be redeemed for free overnight stays or VIP access to concerts, restaurants or sporting events. Gold status offers a bonus of 80 percent on the base points.
- Milestone bonuses: For every tenth overnight stay, 10,000 bonus points are awarded if 40 overnight stays have already been booked in a calendar year.
- "My Way" privileges: Depending on the hotel chain in the Hilton portfolio, you receive a daily food and drinks credit at select brands in the U.S. and worldwide at Motto by Hilton hotels. Complimentary breakfast for two at selected brands outside the U.S.
Good to know: All the Member status and Silver status benefits also apply to Gold status holders. Additional cardholders also benefit from all the bonuses mentioned. You receive the Platinum additional card free of charge.
